This study assessed soil fertility across four elevation classes (1600-2000, 2000-2400, 2400-2800, and above 2800 meters) in agricultural lands of Yunnan Province, China. A total of 400 surface soil samples (0-30 cm) were collected, and properties such as soil texture, calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), pH, electrical conductivity (EC), organic matter (OM), macro-nutrients (total nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium), and micro-nutrients (iron, manganese, zinc, copper) were analyzed. The Nutrient Index Value (NIV) was used for soil classification.
