New Strategy for Liquid Nitrogen Treatment: Dual Cotton Swab Combined Cryotherapy
Description

Steps to reproduce
We propose an optimized approach that combines large (8-10 mm) and small (3-5 mm) cotton swabs for liquid nitrogen cryotherapy (Figure 1A). During the procedure, both swabs are dipped into liquid nitrogen simultaneously. The small swab then contacts the lesion (Figure 1B). Through gravitational force, liquid nitrogen seeps along the cotton fibers or pre-designed channels to the small swab’s head. The large swab acts as a reservoir, transferring cryogen to the small swab via gravity. This ensures precise application of liquid nitrogen directly to the target lesion. Although this method holds promise for improving treatment precision and reducing operation time, further comprehensive controlled studies are needed to verify its effectiveness and superiority.
