Description

The dataset contains energy usage measurements for 53 public primary and secondary least affluent and energy-poor schools located in Western Cape, South Africa. The data was collected using smart meters installed in the schools over one year, from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.

Steps to reproduce

The data was gotten from smart meters installed in each school to collect electricity usage data at the whole-building level. The meters were configured to record data in real-time and transmitted securely to a central database via GreenX Engineering's web portal. Electricity usage was captured at 30-minute intervals. The data was cleaned and enhanced with Python (pandas library).
