Description

The dataset comprises a set of benchmark instances categorized based on problem size and number of incompatible families. INSTANCE SET: The instances are grouped into three categories (C1, C2, and C3). -> C1 and C2 (S1): Represent small-to-medium sized instances. -> C3 (S2): Represents large-sized instances. PROBLEM CHARACTERISTICS Each instance is defined by the following characteristics: -> Number of machines (m): C1: {2}, C2: {2, 4, 6}, C3: {8, 10, 12} -> Number of jobs (n): C1: {10}, C2: {20, 40, 60}, C3: {100, 200, 400} -> Number of incompatible job families (f): C1, C2, C3: {2, 4, 6} Jobs, setups, and machines configurations: -> C1, C2: U[1, 25] (uniform distribution between 1 and 25) -> C3: U[1, 25] OR U[13, 38] (depending on instance configuration) -> Setup severity factor (η): C1, C2: 0.25, C3: 0.25 OR 0.75 (depending on instance configuration) -> Machine capacity (v_max): 50 (constant across all instances) -> Instances per configuration: 10 (10 instances for each combination of problem characteristics) FILE NAMING CONVENTION The dataset utilizes a standardized file naming convention for easy identification: -> RTN (authors' names): Refers to the authors of this research. -> S1 (instance set): Indicates the instance set (S1 or S2). -> m-x (number of machines): Denotes the number of machines (e.g., m-2 for 2 machines). -> n-y (number of jobs): Indicates the number of jobs (e.g., n-20 for 20 jobs). -> f-z (number of families): Represents the number of incompatible job families (e.g., f-2 for 2 families). -> sz-w (job size case): Identifies the job size distribution (e.g., sz-1 for U[1, 25]). -> sds-v (setup time case): Indicates the setup severity factor (e.g., sds-1 for η = 0.25). -> k-u (instance ID): Represents the unique identifier for each instance within a configuration (k ranges from 1 to 10). EXAMPLE RTN-S1-m-2-n-20-f-2-sz-1-sds-1-k-1.txt refers to the first instance (k-1) in category S1 with the following characteristics: -> 2 machines (m-2) -> 20 jobs (n-20) -> 2 incompatible families (f-2) -> Job size distribution U[1, 25] (sz-1) -> Setup severity factor η = 0.25 (sds-1) SUPPORT FILES: -> MILP (Exact solutions of category C1) -> Training instances (Set of solutions used for parameter tuning) -> Best solutions of each instance -> Readme.txt (Instructions for reading the instances)
