Supporting Data for Orbital-Scale Climate Forcing of Atmospheric Dust Flux in Middle Jurassic North China Peatlands
Description
This dataset contains supporting data for the manuscript “Orbital-Scale Climate Forcing of Atmospheric Dust Flux in the Middle Jurassic.” All coal maceral data, sporopollen data, detrital zircon U-Pb age data, and calculated dust deposition rate data are sourced exclusively from Middle Jurassic strata of the Junggar and Ordos basins. We additionally compiled published atmospheric dust deposition rate records from the Permian and Holocene to compare dust flux patterns with our Middle Jurassic results under contrasting greenhouse and icehouse climate conditions. These data support the reconstruction of atmospheric dust deposition rates in Middle Jurassic peatlands across North China’s Junggar and Ordos basins, and provide a foundation for intercomparing dust cycling under greenhouse and icehouse climate backgrounds. The dataset further aids analysis of the correlations between peatland types, palynological paleoclimate proxies, detrital zircon provenance constraints, and orbital-scale atmospheric dust deposition.
