Description

This dataset contains 1,044 orthopaedic operations in 612 women with rheumatoid arthritis between 2006 and 2024. It includes AI-estimated bone mineral density and relevant clinical variables. The accompanying R scripts reproduce the analyses reported in the article. Variable definitions and software requirements are provided in the documentation.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download and unzip this dataset. Keep the folder structure (`data/`, `code/`). 2. Install R (manuscript: R 4.5.2) and packages: ```r install.packages(c("lme4", "lmerTest")) ``` 3. In a terminal, from the unzipped folder root, run: ```bash Rscript code/01_baseline_characteristics.R Rscript code/02_ebmd_temporal_trends.R Rscript code/03_ebmd_associated_factors.R Rscript code/04_clinical_temporal_trends.R ``` 4. Results are written to `output/`. Compare with the manuscript Tables/Figures (see `README.md`). Expected cohort sizes: primary 1,044 operations / 612 patients; secondary 343 / 234.
