Description

To determine the values of isotopic parameters δ18O and δ2H, samples were collected in March and April 2021 on the Dalnie Zelentsy research vessel (property of the Murmansk Marine Biological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences). A total of 107 samples was collected and analyzed at 27 stations . Also, 6 pairs of ice and subglacial water samples were collected to estimate the fractionation of the stable isotopes during ice formation in a real setting.

Water temperature and salinity were measured using the SEACAT SBE 19 plus V2 CTD sensor (Sea-Bird Scientific, USA). The salinity measurement error was ±0.01 psu. δ18O and δ2H stable isotopes content was measured using the laser-based analyzer Picarro L2130-i (manufactured in 2021) at the Research Centre for X-Ray Diffraction Studies of the Saint Petersburg State University Research Park. USGS50 (δ18O = +4.95 ‰ and δ2H = +32,8 ‰), USGS45 (δ18O = -2,238 ‰ and δ2H = -10.3 ‰), USGS46 (δ18O = -29.80 ‰ and δ2H = -235.8 ‰) standards were applied. Measurement error was ±0.07 ‰ for δ18O and ±0.2 ‰ for δ2H.
