This dataset provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the application of Pierre Bourdieu’s Theory of Capital in tourism research. It includes 1166 publications collected from Scopus and Web of Science, covering the period from 1989 to 2025. The dataset contains co-authorship networks, keyword co-occurrence analysis, institutional collaborations, and citation trends.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download the dataset from Mendeley Data and extract the files if necessary. 2. Review the dataset structure, which includes bibliometric data on tourism research based on Pierre Bourdieu’s Theory of Capital. 3. Import the dataset into VOSviewer or Bibliometrix (R package) for bibliometric network visualization. 4. Run co-authorship and keyword co-occurrence analysis to identify key research clusters. 5. Analyze institutional collaborations and citation trends using provided metadata. 6.
