Inhibition of mTORC1 reduces fibrotic gene expression
Description
Organism: House mouse Experiment type: Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing Summary CONTEXT: Epididymal adipose tissue (EAT) transcriptome studies provide holistic pictures of ob/ob mice with or without rapamycin. OBJECTIVE: To implement EAT gene expression profiling and investigate the link between changes in AT gene expression of ob/ob mice with or without rapamycin. RESULTS: Rapamycin, the inhibitor of mTORC1, reduces fibrotic gene expression.

Steps to reproduce
Ten-week-old male homozygous ob/ob mice were randomly divided into two groups after one week of adaptive feeding. The ob/ob mice in the rapamycin group were intraperitoneally injected with rapamycin (0.5 mg/kg/day) for two weeks. The vehicle group was given the same volume of normal saline injection. After two weeks, the mice were killed, and epididymal adipose tissue (EAT) was taken.
