Data and reproducibility materials for plant-centred hydropower emissions diagnostics
Description
This dataset contains the public reproducibility materials for an Environmental Impact Assessment Review study of spatial boundaries and indicator validity in ex-post environmental assessment, using global hydropower development as an empirical case. The empirical estimand is post-commissioning change in EDGAR-allocated emissions inside a standardized 25-km screening window. This window is a globally harmonized screening boundary rather than a project-specific environmental impact assessment boundary. The analysis does not identify project life-cycle emissions or electricity-system-wide fossil-fuel displacement. The archive contains the shareable analytical inputs, coefficient-level results, regional comparisons, source-support and temporal-variation diagnostics, Python estimation and validation code, figure-reproduction scripts, data dictionaries, provenance records, and a one-command reproducibility workflow. The supplied validation workflow completes 75 automated checks. Row-level EDGAR and IEA source data are not redistributed because they remain subject to the original providers’ terms. Provenance information and instructions for obtaining the source data are included in the archive.
