Description

This repository contains the complete dataset and analysis scripts for the meta-analysis of micro(nano)plastic (MNP) transport in porous media, comprising 2,726 observations extracted from 60 peer-reviewed studies. The data are organized into four Excel files (S1–S4) corresponding to the four meta-regression models examined: solution chemistry (S1, n = 1,019), organic additives (S2, n = 511), collector zeta potential (S3, n = 695), and co-contaminants (S4, n = 501), with supplementary study metadata and quality scores in S5 (n = 60 studies). Key variables include ionic strength, pH, organic matter type and concentration, collector coating type, co-contaminant type and concentration, zeta potential, particle size, and effluent recovery (%). The repository also includes R scripts for conducting the meta-regression analyses, generating publication-quality figures (main and supplementary), performing subgroup and sensitivity analyses, and reproducing all results presented in the manuscript. All analyses were conducted using R version 4.3.1 with the metafor, ggplot2, dplyr, and tidyr packages. This dataset and code enable full reproducibility of the meta-analysis and can be reused for further investigations of MNP transport in porous media.
