This database is the support of a reasearch taht seeks to understand the tensions produced by the formal protection measures applied in territories with biological and ethnic characteristics in the border area between Chile and Bolivia (departments of Oruro and Potosí, regions of Tarapacá and Arica-Parinacota.). This dataset systematizes the results of a documentary review, interviews with officials, a cartographic and historical analysis focusing on the changes that protected areas and indigenous territories underwent during between the 20th and 21st century.
