Description: This dataset includes previously published geochemical data from the Yinshan Orogenic Belt, iron isotope data from the Tumbiana Formation and Archean shales. The geochemical data from the Yinshan Orogenic Belt comprise Neoarchean granitoids, Neoarchean–Paleoproterozoic granitoids, Paleoproterozoic granitoids, and Paleoproterozoic diorites. The specific sources of these data are provided in the caption of Figure 9. These data help constrain the provenance of iron in the Qinshui Basin. The comparison of the Gaussian distributions of iron isotope data from the Tumbiana Formation and Archean shales with those of this study provides important insights into the iron isotope fractionation patterns observed in our samples. The sources of these comparative data are listed in the caption of Figure 10.
