Description

We proposed an individual tree detection and segmentation approach based on a trunk point distribution indicator (TPDI). The objective is to identify and segment individual trees from UAV-LiDAR data. High accuracies were derived in Eucalyptus plantations, which were characterized by overlapping crowns and relatively high understory vegetation. The folder "codes" contain the UAV-LiDAR data and the reference data of a plot and all Matlab codes.
