Description

This dataset supports a cross-sectional survey investigating self-reported awareness regarding contraindicated herbal medicinal products (HMPs) during pregnancy among Romanian women. The study aimed to explore participants’ awareness and perceptions regarding HMP safety during pregnancy and to identify sociodemographic and pregnancy-related factors associated with self-reported awareness. Data were collected between June and August 2023 using an online 30-item questionnaire administered to adult women in Romania with current or previous pregnancy experience. The final analytical sample comprised 171 participants. The dataset includes sociodemographic characteristics, pregnancy-related variables, use and preference for herbal medicinal products, essential oil use, and participants’ self-reported awareness regarding contraindicated HMPs during pregnancy. The publicly available dataset has been de-identified. Free-text responses are not included because narrative responses may contain information that could potentially contribute to participant identification. Information derived from these responses is presented only in aggregated or summarized form where applicable. A README file accompanying the dataset provides additional information on variable definitions, coding, and interpretation.
