Description

Data belong to an experiment, where human participants (dog owners) could observe a skilled dog, or human demonstrator in a detour task. Then, human participants could solve the task, too. We tested whether they copy or not the demonstrators. "Key" sheet shows explanation to the variables.

Steps to reproduce

Participants were tested in three groups: control (no demo), dog demonstrator and human demonstrator. Handedness of the participants was recorded. The demonstrators always chose the opposite side to perform a detour around the obstacle compared to the handedness of the participant. Main dependent variable was the route choice of the participant (left/right ; congruent/non-congruent with demo). We also measured the latency of performing a detour. gender of the participants was also recorded.
