From Childhood Emotional Maltreatment to Disturbed Self-Organisation: Unraveling the Mediating Role of Parental Attachment
Description
In this study, we examined the pathway from childhood emotional maltreatment (CEM) to the dimensions of disturbance in self-organization (DSO), with adolescent parental attachment (APA) as a mediator. We hypothesized that all dimensions of APA would impact the relationship between the dimensions of CEM and DSO. The results revealed significant positive correlations between CEM, APA, and DSO dimensions. Furthermore, path analysis indicated several significant direct and indirect effects.
