Replication Data for “Can Renewable Energy Decouple Material Use from Environmental Degradation? Evidence from CO₂ Emissions and Load Capacity Factors”
Description
This replication package accompanies the manuscript “Can Renewable Energy Decouple Material Use from Environmental Degradation? Evidence from CO₂ Emissions and Load Capacity Factors.” The package contains the Stata replication code, original analysis log, variable and source documentation, table-to-code mapping, and reproducibility instructions. The harmonized analytical dataset is not redistributed publicly because it contains observations derived from third-party sources subject to source-specific reuse conditions. Instructions for obtaining the underlying data and reconstructing the analytical input are provided in the package. The empirical workflow covers descriptive analysis, cross-sectional dependence and slope-heterogeneity tests, panel unit-root and cointegration diagnostics, CS-ARDL/DCCE estimation, material-footprint × renewable-energy interaction models, dynamic threshold estimation, quantile CCE estimation, bias-corrected quantile estimation, AMG, and CCEMG robustness analysis. The README documents the software requirements, data sources, code sequence, and mapping between the manuscript tables and replication commands. The package is provided to facilitate verification and reproducibility of the results reported in the associated manuscript.

Steps to reproduce
Download and extract the replication package while retaining its folder structure. Open Stata and set the working directory to the extracted package root. Run the master replication do-file. The do-file imports the supplied master dataset, constructs the required transformations and interaction terms, and implements the empirical workflow reported in the manuscript, including descriptive analysis, cross-sectional dependence and slope-heterogeneity tests, panel unit-root and cointegration diagnostics, CS-ARDL/DCCE estimation, dynamic threshold estimation, quantile CCE estimation, bias-corrected quantile estimation, AMG, and CCEMG robustness checks. The README provides software requirements, user-written Stata dependencies, and a mapping between manuscript tables and the corresponding replication code. The supplied analysis log can be used to compare reproduced output with the reported results.
