Documentary data collection was carried out using ten distinct and publicly accessible sources: I. Data from 1,621,576 accidents registered by the PRF (Federal Highway Police) from 2010 to 2023 on federal highways in Brazil, across 2,368 different municipalities, were collected and consolidated (data source I). The number of fatalities (response variable) was consolidated (summed) by state, municipality, and year. Categorical variables were summarized by the category with the highest number of accidents (modal category) by state and municipality, remaining invariant over time.
