Description

Data for the paper "Influence of grain-scale properties on localization patterns and slip weakening within dense granular fault gouges" by Casas, Mollon and Daouadji, submitted for publication, September 2022. This repository contains dataset obtained for direct shear experiments (displacement, forces) All simulations were performed with the open-source software MELODY2D version 3.94 (https://doi-org.docelec.insa-lyon.fr/10.5281/zenodo.4305614) developed by and described in Mollon (2018).

Files

Steps to reproduce

All simulations reported in the paper are covered. "0_reference_case_MS" contains the initial material for the numerical campaign (all the files needed to reproduce the calculation) The other directories report variations in some parameters with file results (FORCE_DISP). For all the data files (FORCE_DISP) uploaded in this project, each line corresponds to a given time step, and the columns have the following meaning: 1-Time step; 2-Time; 3-X-displacement of the upper wall; 4-Y-displacement of the upper wall; 5-X-force applied on the upper wall; 6-Y-force applied on the upper wall;
