Description

Chemical compositions of floral scent emitted by three forms of cultivated Plumeria rubra L. are given in Table 1. In total, 68 different volatile compositions were identified from three forms of cultivated Plumeria rubra L. although only 14 chemical contents are statistical significantly, including fatty acid derivatives (33), benzenoids (15), and terpenoids (15). In red form of cultivated Plumeria rubra L., 24 different scent compounds mainly belonging to fatty acid were identified (56.75%), while only 13 compounds of them were also found both in white and yellow forms of Plumeria rubra L.. Benzodiazepines were the most dominant class of compounds in white and yellow forms of cultivated Plumeria rubra L.and contributed 48.38% and 42.30% of the total blend, respectively. Only two compounds in red form and another two different compounds both in white and yellow forms had large relative amounts over 10%, while the majority of the compounds were present at levels lower than 10% (Table 1).
