Environmental Sustainability at Borderland Ports in Pakistan Data
Description
The data comprises survey information utilized to develop and statistically evaluate a measurement scale for environmental sustainability at the land ports along the Pakistan border. The data are formatted in SPSS and encompass coded responses from 730 participants involved in land port activities throughout three regions in Pakistan. The data set includes item-level characteristics aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals framework and the Asian Development Bank's environmental and social framework. Structured Likert scale instruments are employed to document the responses. They possess demographic and operational background variables that facilitate subgroup analysis. The SPSS file contains explicitly defined variables, value coding definitions, and scale indicators to facilitate the replication of reliability and factor structure testing processes. The dataset supports the application of internal consistency evaluation, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis via standard statistical software. Variable nomenclature, coding architecture, and construct classifications are organized to facilitate secondary analysis, enhance scales, enable cross-regional comparisons, and allow generalization in various land port or trade corridor contexts. All data is anonymised and devoid of personally identifiable information. The data can be reutilized in terrestrial trade system studies concerning sustainability assessment, infrastructure governance, and environmental performance.
Files
Steps to reproduce
The dataset is provided in SPSS format with labeled variables and defined value coding. To reproduce reliability and construct validation procedures, open the SPSS file in IBM SPSS Statistics. Review variable labels and value definitions in Variable View. Identify construct items grouped according to the sustainability dimensions defined in the questionnaire. Conduct reliability analysis using Analyze Scale Reliability Analysis and compute Cronbach’s Alpha for each construct. Perform Exploratory Factor Analysis using Analyze Dimension Reduction Factor. Apply Principal Component or Principal Axis Factoring with appropriate rotation method. Evaluate factor loadings and communalities according to standard statistical thresholds. For Confirmatory Factor Analysis, export the dataset to structural equation modeling software such as AMOS or equivalent and specify the measurement model using the grouped indicators. All variables required for replication are included in the SPSS file. No additional preprocessing is required.
