Validation of the FLAC3D model

Description

The validation of the FLAC3D model for simulating ground movement during longwall mining is presented. A key novelty of this approach is the control of the longwall advance rate through the number of iterations at each step. The simulated results were compared with data obtained from physical modeling using synthetic materials.

Steps to reproduce

Numerical data were simulated on FLAC3D computer model. These data were compared with resuolts of in-situ monitoring of ground pressure in a longwall gob and results of physical modeling using synthetic materials and geometruc, dynamic and kinematic similarity
