Description

These animations display the empirical joint distribution obtained via Gaussian kernel smoothing across bandwidths from 0.10 to 0.95 (where h is the bandwidth parameter). Note the positive correlation between the sister cells' lifespans, which suggests a mechanism of cellular inheritance. This example is adapted from Figure 6 of Korsnes et al., "Lineage-Resolved Lifetime Modelling Reveals Potential Quiescence and Synchronization among MDA-MB-468 Breast Cancer Cells," Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology (2026).
