Koi carp rhabdovirus genome

Description

Here, we report the isolation and characterization of a novel rhabdovirus, designated koi carp rhabdovirus (KCRV), from diseased koi carp associated with a severe outbreak resulting in more than 80% mortality.

Steps to reproduce

EPC cells were infected with the isolated KCRV viral suspension. When 80% CPE was observed, the cells were freeze thawed three times and then centrifuged at 1000×g for 5 min. The post infection supernatant was collected, RNA was extracted, and the resulting cDNA was sent out for whole genome sequencing.
