Description

This dataset contains the experimental measurements from a 140-day soil incubation study evaluating phosphorus (P) availability from struvite, a slow-release fertilizer recovered from wastewater. The primary objective was to determine how residual struvite granules and sample preparation methods (specifically, physical grinding) artificially elevate or conceal extractable Olsen-P concentrations in standard soil tests. Methodology: The experiment was conducted using 20 g samples of two contrasting soils. Samples were subjected to four fertilizer treatments at a P application rate of 215 mg kg⁻¹: Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP), struvite with residual granules retained for extraction, struvite with residual granules removed before extraction, and an unamended control. Extractable P was measured over 140 days to compare the effects of two sample preparation methods (grinding vs. no grinding) and to track the dissolution and P-release dynamics of the fertilizers.
