RELEVANCE OF NATIONAL ARCHIVES FOR THE CONSOLIDATION AND SAFEGUARDING OF THE SOVEREIGNTY OF LATIN AMERICAN NATIONS

Abstract: Analysis of official primary sources available in National Archives of Latin American Nations relating to autochthonous manifestations of these societies understood as representative of historical-social, cultural, ethnic, patrimonial, epistemic-philosophical, hermeneutic-interpretative, humanitarian, democratic and public policy principles, conceptions and perspectives capable of elucidating the relevance of these National Archives for the consolidation and safeguarding of the sovereignty of Latin-American Nations in the 21st Century. Structured as an interinstitutional, international, and multidisciplinary research project, with a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative), a basic (pure) nature, exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory objectives, and employing bibliographic-documentary and statistical procedures, this study aims to elucidate the relevance of National Archives for the consolidation and safeguarding of the sovereignty of these States in contemporary times. It is expected that the results will unquestionably reveal the relevance of these public institutions (National Collections or Archives) for the protection of the cultural, epistemic, and philosophical characteristics of these nations, directly contributing to the consolidation and safeguarding of the sovereignty of Latin American nations today.
