Description

This dataset provides the complete replication package for the study: "Renewable Energy and Bank Credit Risk: The Mediating Role of Economic Growth" by John Hlias Plikas and Dimitris Kenourgios (2026). It includes: 1) Replication Dataset.xlsx - a balanced annual panel dataset covering 28 European Union countries over the period 2013–2022. 2) Replication Steps.txt - a detailed plain-text guide explaining step-by-step how to import the data into EViews (v10+), create necessary transformations (e.g., first differences, lags, interactions) and steps to reproduce all empirical tables and results referring to the study. Purpose: Enables full independent replication of the empirical findings on how renewable energy adoption influences bank credit risk (via non-performing loans), with economic growth as a mediating channel. No additional software beyond EViews is required. All estimations use built-in Panel Least Squares or Robust Least Squares options.
