Description

The file "mars_ions_public.py" is a Python code to calculate the wave attenuation in the ionosphere, with parameters set to correspond to the case analyzed in the paper "Lightning-generated waves detected at Mars", replicating Figure 4b therein. It uses the model magnetic field profile stored in "mag_profile.txt" and, on top of traditional Python libraries, the in-house routines from the file "ionospheric_attenuation_public.py". The calculation follows the established full-wave modeling method developed by Lehtinen and Inan (2008, 2009). References: N. G. Lehtinen, U. S.
