Bangladesh 64 Districts Daily Climate and Air Quality (AQI) Dataset (2023-2025)
Description
This dataset contains daily weather and air quality (AQI) data for all 64 districts of Bangladesh from January 2023 to December 2025. The data was collected using the Open-Meteo API. It includes parameters such as average temperature, rainfall, maximum wind speed, PM10, PM2.5, and the US AQI level. This structured dataset can be utilized for environmental research, climate change analysis, and machine learning prediction models.

Steps to reproduce
The dataset was systematically generated using automated Python scripting to extract historical meteorological and air quality data. The following steps detail the methodological approach: 1. Geospatial Mapping: Geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) for all 64 administrative districts of Bangladesh were identified and cataloged. 2. API Integration: Data retrieval was automated via the open-source Open-Meteo Historical Weather API and Air Quality API. 3. Data Extraction Pipeline: A Python-based script utilizing the requests library was deployed to fetch time-series data spanning from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025. 4. Parameter Retrieval & Aggregation: a) Meteorological Data: Daily mean temperature (°C), cumulative precipitation (mm), and maximum wind speed (km/h) were directly queried. b) Air Quality Data: Hourly particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) concentrations and US AQI values were extracted and subsequently aggregated into daily arithmetic means using the pandas library. 5. Data Consolidation & Formatting: The meteorological and air quality datasets were joined utilizing date-based primary keys. The finalized, cleaned data for each district was exported into individual Comma-Separated Values (CSV) files and compressed into a unified ZIP archive to facilitate structured distribution.
