This study retrospectively analyzed electronic data of all patients admitted to either the acute care psychiatric wards of the Jerusalem Mental Health Center, or in one of two Jerusalem Soteria homes, men’s and women’s, between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2018. For each individual, records of all psychiatric admissions up to and including May 31, 2021 (including entries before 2018) were retrieved from the Ministry of Health's records. Each admission record included the admission and release dates, the site of care (hospital / Soteria home), and whether the admission was voluntary or involuntary.
