This dataset contains the morphometric measurements of 65 adult dry cadaveric femurs (33 right-sided and 32 left-sided) used to evaluate the distal end parameters of the femur. The data includes precise measurements of Bicondylar Width (BCW), Medial/Lateral Condylar Antero-Posterior Distance (MCAPD/LCAPD), Medial/Lateral Condylar Transverse Distance (MCTD/LCTD), Intercondylar Notch Width (ICNW), and total femur length. This morphometric data provides anatomical insights tailored to the Pakistani population to optimize the design, sizing, and placement of customized knee joint implants and prostheses.

Steps to reproduce

Study Setting & Ethics: The descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between January 2025 and June 2025 in the Department of Anatomy at the Services Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS), Lahore, following ethical approval (IRB Ref No. IRB/2025/1500/SIMS). Specimen Selection: A sample size of 65 adult-sized cadaveric femurs was gathered using a consecutive sampling technique. Completely unossified or broken femurs were excluded from the dataset. Measurement Protocol: A Digital Vernier Caliper was used to record measurements (in millimeters) for BCW, MCAPD, LCAPD, MCTD, LCTD, ICNW, and overall femur length. Statistical Analysis: The raw measurement metrics were entered and compiled in SPSS version 24. Mean values, standard deviations (SD), and 95% Confidence Intervals (CI) were calculated. Independent t-tests were applied to compare metrics between the right and left femurs, setting statistical significance at a P-value <0.05.
