Description

This dataset contains quantitative survey data collected from 303 landowners in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. It includes variables on awareness of planning regulations, compliance behaviour, institutional perceptions, and demographic characteristics. The dataset supports research on development control governance and participation in building approval processes in rapidly urbanising peri-urban areas.

Steps to reproduce

The dataset was collected through a structured questionnaire survey administered to landowners in Imota, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. Responses were coded and entered into SPSS for statistical analysis. Variables include demographic characteristics, awareness of planning regulations, compliance behaviour, and institutional perceptions. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were applied to examine relationships influencing participation in building registration and plan approval processes.
