Steps to reproduce

The data generated and analysed during the current study are available in the Scopus and Web of Science database. The retrieval and screening procedures are described in the Methods section. For Scopus, the search was conducted within the title, abstract, and keyword fields using the following query: TITLE-ABS-KEY ( ( "agentic AI" OR "agentic artificial intelligence" OR "agentic system*" OR "autonomous AI agent*" OR "LLM agent*" OR "large language model agent*" OR "language model agent*" OR "generative AI agent*" ) AND ( "engineering education" OR "engineering teaching" OR "engineering learning" OR "engineering curriculum" OR "engineering pedagog*" OR "engineering student*" OR "engineering undergraduate*" OR "engineering higher education" ) ) AND ( LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "COMP" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "ENGI" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "SOCI" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "MATH" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "MATE" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "PHYS" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "ENER" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "MEDI" ) OR LIMIT-TO ( SUBJAREA , "CENG" ) ) AND ( EXCLUDE ( DOCTYPE , "cr" ) ) For Web of Science, a Topic search was conducted using the following query: TS=(("agentic AI" OR "agentic artificial intelligence" OR "agentic system*" OR "agentic workflow*" OR "AI agent*" OR "artificial intelligence agent*" OR "autonomous AI agent*" OR "intelligent AI agent*" OR "LLM agent*" OR "large language model agent*" OR "language model agent*" OR "generative AI agent*" OR "multi-agent AI" OR "multiagent AI" OR "AI multi-agent system*" OR "multi-agent large language model*" OR "autonomous learning agent*") AND (engineer* OR "engineering education" OR "engineering discipline*" OR "engineering programme*" OR "engineering curriculum" OR "engineering student*" OR "engineering undergraduate*" OR "engineering universit*" OR "technical education") AND (education OR educational OR teaching OR learning OR training OR curriculum OR pedagog* OR classroom* OR laborator* OR assessment OR "higher education" OR universit* OR undergraduate* OR postgraduate* OR student* OR educator* OR instructor*))
