Description

This data set provides detailed numerical data of the food waste analysis in the Republic of Cyprus covering all stages of food waste production, from the primary sector and processing to the retail sector, food services (i.e. restaurants), and households. The waste statistics approach uses mainly the EU waste statistics reported by each Member State based on EU Commission regulation on waste statistics (No. 2150/2002), and is based as well as in the Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 2019/1597 of 3 May 2019 supplementing Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and the Council as regards a common methodology and minimum quality requirements for the uniform measurement of levels of food waste. The collection of the data is included in seventeen tables and twenty Sankey diagrams.
