Description

This dataset contains experimental data related to the production and characterization of biochar derived from carnauba straw (Copernicia prunifera), with and without wax removal, as well as its application in methylene blue adsorption. The dataset includes physicochemical characterization data (e.g., FTIR, XRD, and thermal analysis), as well as adsorption experiments such as kinetics and equilibrium isotherms. The data allow the evaluation of the influence of wax removal on the adsorption performance. This dataset supports the findings of the associated research article and can be used for comparison, reproducibility, and further studies on biochar-based adsorbents.

Steps to reproduce

Biochar samples were produced from carnauba straw (Copernicia prunifera) with and without its natural wax layer under controlled pyrolysis conditions. The materials were characterized using standard techniques, including FTIR, XRD, and thermal analysis. Adsorption experiments were conducted in batch mode using methylene blue solutions, evaluating kinetics and equilibrium isotherms under controlled conditions. Detailed experimental procedures and conditions can be found in the associated research article.
