Description

These are sixty-seven rows of data of soil organic and inorganic carbon, and textural fractions in surface horizons of a representative Mediterranean transect in the Valencia province (Eastern Spain) which were gathered in 2008 and 2009. The data include a sample unique consecutive identifier, a soil code number, a horizon code number, a sample code number, readily oxidized carbon mass fractions in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, total oxidized carbon mass fractions at 150, 180 and 210 ºC in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, total carbon mass fractions in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, lost-on-ignition mass fractions at 300, 400, 450, 500, 560, 600 and 650 ºC and 2 h in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, lost-on-ignition mass fractions at 560 ºC and 12 h in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, the carbonate carbon mass fraction in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay, and clay, silt and sand mass fractions in the fine earth and the silt-plus-clay.
