Dan SchwabDescription
This paper looks at the effect of employment protection legislation (EPL) in India. It concludes that EPL shifts formal sector jobs from young to old and reduces total factor productivity. The main data sets are the National Sample Survey (NSS) and the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI). There are three files: make_tables_SCHWAB_may_9_2019.do creates tables using Stata and does some minor data manipulations. nss_final.dta and asi_final.dta are Stata data files that include the components of those datasets that I used in the analysis.
