Steps to reproduce

Insects were sampled fortnightly on ten randomly selected trees, using three methods: 1) visual search: a 2-minute search for adult aphids and predatory insects around each tree, according to Lioni and Cividanes (2004); 2) entomological umbrella (0.75 × 0.75 m): the device was placed randomly on the ground under each tree, and a wooden stick was used to shake branches 1.50 m above the soil surface, based on Grootaert et al. (2010); and 3) thrips: 10 racemes per tree were beaten into a white tray (30 cm × 22 cm).
