Description

This is a street-level image dataset for detecting building setback violations in Dhaka, Bangladesh. A setback is the open space the law requires between a building and its plot boundary or the road. RAJUK, the state organization of Bangladesh for its capital Dhaka's development authority, sets these rules, but many buildings ignore them. We walked through 16 Dhaka neighborhoods and photographed building facades with ordinary smartphones. The dataset contains: - 372 labeled facade photographs - An annotation spreadsheet (Rajuk_Data_Set.xlsx) with one row per image LABELS - Negative (N), compliant: 229 images. The setback space is clearly visible and unobstructed. - Moderate (M), borderline: 82 images. Compliance can't be confirmed from the photo because of occlusion, the angle, lighting or an unclear boundary. - Positive (P), violation: 61 images. The building or a permanent extension reaches into the required setback. Further details can be found in our research paper whose link is provided below.
