Description

Raw data set on TLR3, TLR7, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, and IFNγ gene expression in peritoneal macrophages of BALB/C mice after intraperitoneal itroduction of E. Coli lytic bacteriophages. Gene expression activity was determined by the amount of mRNA by real-time PCR. Data are presented as the number of PCR cycles for each variant. These data make it possible to quantify the relative changes in the expression of the studied genes.

Bacteriophages were propagated, purified from bacterial cells and concentrated 10 times. Concentrated samples of the studied bacteriophages were purified from bacterial endotoxins by affinity chromatography to acceptable standards – 0.1 EU per mouse. Bacteriophage samples purified from bacterial cells and endotoxins were administered intraperitoneally to male BALB/c mice. Three days after bacteriophage administration, mice were euthanized and peritoneal macrophages were harvested. Total RNA was extracted from the harvested macrophages, followed by cDNA synthesis by reverse transcription. cDNA was used to determine the expression level of the Tlr3, Tlr7, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IFNγ genes by real time PCR.
