Synergistic Integration of Leonardite coal derived humic acid assisted Graphene Oxide with Cerium oxide on LFP Cathodes
Description
This study explores the impact of cerium oxide on improving the electrochemical performance and durability of lithium iron phosphate composite cathodes with reduced graphene oxide. The graphene oxide, derived from humic acid in leonardite coal, provides a sustainable alternative to conventional sources. CeO2 integration enhances cycling stability and rate capability, with CeO2-inlaid LFP achieving a good discharge capacity after 100 cycles, maintaining 99.99% capacity retention rate. These findings highlight CeO2’s potential in enhancing lithium-ion battery electrode materials.

Steps to reproduce
Follow the synthesis procedures, like modified hummers method and polyol method for preparing the composite, that is given in the manuscript. We can reproduce the same result by using the above. For confirmation of the composite material, X-ray diffractometry has been taken and the resulting peaks must be aligned with the give JCPDS values. Further studies has been done using SEM, HRTEM, XPS. Electrochemical studies have been done using workstation and glove box.
