Description

The dataset refers to a study conducted in Togo which aims to propose indicator of habitats by the mean of a better understanding the ecology of Pteridophytes, a relatively good bioindicator of ecosystems state or quality. The study aims to answer to questions about the way the Pteridophyte flora of Togo spread over the country and the factors that explain the best the observed distributions. For this purposes, a field survey was made from 2013 to 2018 in the hole Togolese territory, within all ecosystems (defined by land cover types, altitude, climate, etc.). Name of species were corrected according to the iPNI database (https://www.ipni.org/) and the synonyms follow "The plant list" database (http://theplantlist.org/). The dataset obtained (site and species data) may be analysed together to understand the links between species and their environment. A recent version of R software and the libraries "vegan", "indicspecies" and "labdsv" are required. It contains the global dataset (species-data.txt) species presence in plots (species-by-plot), plot's ecological data (sites.txt) and R scripts (R-codes.txt) we used for the main analysis.
