Data and code for “When Greening Crosses Hydrological Limits: Structural-Overshoot Drought and Ecohydrological Stability Risks in the Yellow River Basin”
Description
This dataset contains processed tables, representative-pixel records, final figure files, and reusable validation scripts supporting the manuscript “When Greening Crosses Hydrological Limits: Structural-Overshoot Drought and Ecohydrological Stability Risks in the Yellow River Basin”. The study combines a long-term ecohydrological background partition derived from trends in NDVI, 0–1 m soil moisture, and Bowen ratio with an event-scale diagnosis of structural-overshoot drought. The original MODIS, ERA5-Land, SPEIbase, CLCD, and DEM products are not redistributed and should be obtained from their respective providers. Large intermediate raster products and pixel-level model-state archives are not included because of file-size and third-party data redistribution limitations.
Files
Steps to reproduce
1. Download the complete dataset and retain the original folder structure. 2. Read README.md, data_dictionary.csv, and file_manifest.csv for descriptions of the included files. 3. From the repository root, run: python scripts/validate_key_statistics.py to inspect selected area statistics, high-confidence partition comparisons, land-cover statistics, and representative-event values. 4. Run: python scripts/plot_framework_example.py to reproduce the simplified representative-pixel framework plot. 5. The large original public datasets and intermediate raster products required to rerun the complete analysis are not redistributed. Their sources and processing methods are described in the associated manuscript.
