Description

This dataset contains raw elemental analysis results (C, H, N, and S) of the residues and residue weights obtained from three independent experimental runs (Runs 1–3) using the Murchison meteorite. The data were obtained through solvent extraction (hexane, acetonitrile, methanol, and water extraction) and acid treatment (2 M HCl, 23 M HF, and 6 M HCl treatment) to separate organic fractions. Since an aliquot of each residue was taken for elemental analysis, residue weights were corrected using the mass reduction ratio at each step. Elemental amounts were calculated from EA data combined with measured and corrected residue weights.

Steps to reproduce

Residues were collected after each solvent extraction (hexane, acetonitrile, methanol, and water) and acid treatment (2 M HCl, 23 M HF, and 6 M HCl). Elemental analysis (C, H, N, and S) was performed using a organic elemental analyzer (Vario EL Cube, Elementar). Data were recorded in Excel format.
