Where the black-horned capuchins roam: Present and future ranges of Sapajus nigritus and their overlap with pine plantations
Description
The data include occurrence records of Sapajus nigritus used in the niche modeling process. Records were compiled from multiple sources, including peer-reviewed literature and the online databases SpeciesLink and Global Biodiversity Information Facility. Records falling outside the species’ known distribution, as defined by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), were excluded from the analysis. The dataset was cleaned using the CoordinateCleaner R package in the R statistical environment to eliminate records with invalid coordinates, spatial duplicates, and points located within a 5 km radius of capital cities or geographic centroids. Additionally, spatial filtering was performed using the spThin R package, applying a minimum distance of 20 km between occurrence points.
