HIV data tabulation 2012-2023
Description
This is an observational study with a descriptive and ecological design that analyzed HIV cases reported in Brazil between 2012 and 2023. The period was selected because it represents the most recent historical series with consolidated data available in the Notifiable Diseases Information System (Sinan).

Steps to reproduce
The data were obtained using the TabWin software, version 4.1.5, provided by the Department of Informatics of the Brazilian Unified Health System (Datasus), and accessed on February 18, 2025. Frequencies were selected according to the year of notification. The Notifiable Diseases Information System (Sinan) is fed by health professionals from public and private services and compiles information on notifiable diseases, enabling the monitoring of the epidemiological situation and supporting control actions. Data collection was conducted independently by two researchers, using the double-checking technique.
