Human–AI Conflict Discourse: YouTube Comments on AI-Generated Content

Description

This dataset contains 221,765 English-language YouTube comments from 695 videos about AI art, ChatGPT, generative AI, AI-generated content, and deepfakes. Comments were collected between January 2022 and June 2026. The dataset supports research on public reactions to AI, including ethical concerns, copyright, creative labour, authenticity, misinformation, and AI tools.

Steps to reproduce

Comments were collected through the YouTube Data API v3 using five AI-related search queries. The data were deduplicated, language-filtered, cleaned, and screened for spam and low-information comments. Sentiment analysis and topic modelling were then applied.
