Description

Data derive from an ad‑hoc survey. Sample: 477 Romanian citizens. Data collection: Sept - Dec 2023. Gathered data include personal income, satisfaction with institutions, trust in institutions, attitudes about institutions, and several socio-demographic variables: saving capacity, level of education, uncertainty avoidance, news sources, nature of the capital ownership structure within one’s employer organization, average no. of days/week of remote work over the last four years, and interpersonal trust, the industry and the sector of participants’ employer organization. Research hypotheses: H1: Romanians who hold more positive beliefs about public governance tend to earn lower incomes. H2: Romanians who hold more positive beliefs about private governance tend to earn higher incomes. Findings provide evidence in support of the two proposed hypotheses.
