Description

This dataset contains Supplementary Tables S1–S5 for the manuscript entitled “Climatic Controls of Mercury Deposition in the Oceans over the Eocene, Pleistocene, and Holocene”. Table S1. Summary of marine sediment cores used in this study, including expedition, site, hole, geographic coordinates, location, initial report reference, and the number of samples assigned to the Eocene, Pleistocene, and Holocene intervals. Table S2. Sample metadata for IODP/ODP/DSDP marine sediment samples analyzed in this study, including sample name, expedition, site, hole, core, section, sampling interval, core depth below seafloor, water depth, geographic coordinates, location, and geological period. Table S3. Total mercury concentration, organic matter content, THg/OM ratios, and Hg stable isotope compositions of marine sediment samples analyzed in this study. Table S4. Hg isotope endmember values used for source comparison in Fig. 4 and Fig. 6, including mean and standard deviation values for δ²⁰²Hg, Δ¹⁹⁹Hg, and Δ²⁰⁰Hg for major Hg reservoirs. Table S5. Literature Hg isotope data used for comparison in Fig. 7, including terrestrial reservoir and marine sediment records compiled from published studies.
